This software application is for Induction Hardening again within the automotive market utilising Allen-Bradley's RS Logics, GML Commander and Panel Builder. The application involves induction treatment of a car steering rack through a series of three hardening processes via a walking beam mechanism. Each hardening station hardens two steering rack simultaneously which are position controlled by servo. Equipment – Allen-Bradley's SLC 504 utilising RIO and linking directly to a 1394 otion Control Unit via the PLC back plane. The control of the system is via Panel View 1000 communicating to the CPU on DH+.
